P.JOHNSON X HAULIER
Dear cherished patron,While collaborations, as they are known, aren’t that frequent in the P.Johnson operations manual, on the occasion they leap out to me as valid and in this instance it was through friendship.
Fond of one another’s lot in the small pond of Australian designers, Jeremy Hershan, the man behind Haulier, and I thought it was time to pull together and manifest our sleeping desires to be motocross champions. Jeremy and I have worked together in the past, forging our paths in the rag biz*, often finding ourselves feeling quite the same way about things. Haulier bags aside I have always been nostalgically captivated by Jeremy’s motocross style long-sleeve shirts. They’re sick, in the fullest sense, which would make them… fully sick.I pine for the days spent belting through the dusty arid plains North of Adelaide, branches thrashing the knuckles, the tinny scream of a two stroke flat-stick, endorphins and energy drinks surging through the veins. Glorious. Halcyon days.
And so we arrived at a few takes on the meshy tee’s, and we threw in a few caps (don’t worry, I know what you’re thinking, they don’t look like trucker caps) and some slick neckerchiefs (dust buffs we will call them) too.
Thanks Jeremy. Good fun.
Pat.
*Speaking of forging, it’s worth mentioning that last year Jeremy was awarded designer of the year by David Jones.
Way to go Jez!
