2025 October Women's
Photographed by Daniel Goode

October is to the year what Friday night is to the week. Pretty exciting. Lot’s of things to go to, plenty of indulging and rampaging, and the knowledge it will be sustained until Sunday night/December. However, it also becomes unsettlingly clear that the year/week is vaporising and the passage of time is indomitable and somehow even accelerating. P Johnson is here to remind you to pump the proverbial brakes and enjoy the beauty and the pleasures. Live slow, die old.
Right now our teams are busily preparing our stores for the October women’s capsule collection and an essay in beauty and pleasure it is. We ought’nt pick favourites but the new Tia series is just too magnificent to not admit quietly under-one’s-breath that it is the best looking of the children, not staying the others are spuds by any means, but this one will definitely garner unfair treatment. Tia is made from an ethereal fabric - a golden jacquard lattice on silk organza woven in Como, Italy and she comes in a top, skirt and dress.

Mix and match the barre-striped Margherita backless cowl necked top with the counterposed stripe of the pleated June skirt. A buoyant and free spirited look with dress up and down appeal. Do the same with our house chain mail print pure silk variant of the same top and bottom for a moodier evening look.
Our Cass culottes are pleated in a doubled layered pure silk and come in black and white with a neat covered button. They are playful, upbeat and mix easily with many of our tops for dressy and less dressy outings.

Heading deeper into the more formal event space is the Stella bustier and Stella gown, in black, naturally. They are boned, corseted garments with a sharp raso silk turn back detail on the front and a subtle and charming passementerie closure detail. Strident and powerful with a vintage undertone.
In sets we have the cropped Flo jacket and mini wrap skirt which is made in the dustiest of sage green linen blends with an intriguing rope ton-sur-ton embroidery in a lozenge pattern. Then there is the Gabrielle cropped and short-sleeved jacket and matching mini in a pure wool from Italy. Both top and skirt feature a 22 carat gold plated feature button emblazoned with hand-enamelled detailing. Or substitute in the Gabrielle backless halter neck style crop with the same feature button on the neck.
It’s Friday/October and I’m in love.
