The interesting looking man and professional thinker, Alain de Botton, suggests in his book The Art of Travel, that we love the beach “because we are seeking a psychological correction for what is missing or out of balance in our everyday, urban lives”. As we constantly compare ourselves to one another, the sea offers a limit so vast that we simply cannot compare ourselves to it. In the deep blue, the sand and the crashing waves there is solace.
Washed canvases, seersuckers, rich cotton and cashmere knits, distressed technical yarns, sandblasted silks and washed denims. This is the wardrobe fit for the coast and beyond. Collars, lapels and locks of hair flail in the sea-breeze. These are clothes with charm, habits and love built in.

The Boyle shirt pines for use, with twin oversized chest pockets fashioned in a bellows and flap design, with the most beautiful hand braided bar tack details. It comes in a supple off-white broadcloth and a full-bodied, indigo dyed denim. For added seaside flair doff the Cormac knit over it - a fisherman’s style knit with a vintage suggestion and handsome ribbed mock neck, it is rich and doughy to handle and super-masculine.

The Campagna coat is lightweight, padded and made from a tissue-like technical fabric woven in Florence. It has a subtle washed effect advancing itsde rigueurappeal. No shortage of deep pockets, snap stud vents, and an action back makes it very ready for action. Lighter again is the Rambler - a dutiful looking army green garb, gutted out into a single layer of thin, dense and soft cotton-silk twill. Cinch the waist and you’re away.
