It appears Summer-forward-slash-Autumn is dragging its feet but don’t forget how cold you are about to get. Winter is better because you get to dress better. Our high Winter collection is now in store and we have accounted for all manner of chills from faint to interstellar. To our woolly mammal friends we are indebted, whether it be merino sheep, cashmere goats, or alpaca, they have lent us their finest fibres so you can be insulated in all sorts of heirloom-worthy P Johnson treasures.

The collection is centred around several new life-long coating options. The most striking of which is the banded Alexandra coat made from soft shearling panels barre-striped by a series of forest green finely textured goat suede. The coat has a collarless ‘vintage’ mood and memorable presence.

We have taken luxurious splittable fabrics further with the new three-quarter sleeve, double breasted Rosie coat. The splittable design allows for a more dynamic movement and a certain purity of design unique to the technique. The weight is more versatile, spanning more temperatures and allows the coat to be worn as a dress. The coat wraps high-up at the neck creating a futuristic silhouette. It comes in a Wool-Cashmere blend in a brindled shade and a Wool-Silk blend in black. Notably we have brought back the partner Rosie jacket and Rosie mini in the same brindle and a new inky shade of navy. The cropped jacket features the same over-wrapped neck and broad sleeve and has become a favourite of devotees.

Our perennial raglan sleeve trench coat is back. This iteration is made from a lofty Alpaca and Virgin Wool blend fabric which resembles a nutty coloured doe-skin pelt. A luscious and decadent coat in a generous and indulgent cut.

In leather we have a new lamb skin coat with matching mini under the name Zoë. The dark espresso-brown leather is extraordinarily supple and forgiving. A deep vee neck, silken surface, prominent pick-stitching, sash belt and elemental design make for a killer look.

The new Vreeland shirt-jacket has a boxy over-shirt profile, placket and front yoke. It is made in a rich 2x2 Wool-Cashmere blend twill from Quarona-based mill Loro Piana. We have chosen the single, versatile shade of oat and made a matching Marella trouser in the very same fabric, making a very cruisy set.

The Eliza is a long sleeve crepe-cady top with a very clean and minimal front, wide cowl neck and a beautiful self-covered button back design. It is semi-fitted in shape and an identical match to our navy and off white Marella pants for easy and seamless outfitting.

The Camilla shirt is back in a custom cotton poplin from Bergamot, Italy. The compact poplin is sharp and crisp and the perfect muted brown Bengal stripe will go with anything in the range. Try it with the Lou trouser, this time re-cut in a subtle-stretch Merino twill in navy and chocolate - woven in Biella, Italy.

In denim we have created a super-chic set consisting of the new unisex Sonny jacket and the new Helen Jean. They are made in Italy from the same perfect mid-wash of Italian organic cotton denim. Helen is a wide leg jean designed to wear relaxed and partly over-sized. The jacket has three patch pockets and a band collar. Groovy.

Winter evening wear is led by the striking Tina dress. The dress has a restrained and aloof appeal. It is made from pure silk, bias cut to exploit its gorgeous satin shimmer and slink. The neck is a false halter defined by silk georgette flanks. The back is the business with the sheer georgette adhering from the nape to the top of the buttock where it is met with slumped cowl. The gown pools luxuriously at its base.

A few reliable favourites we have fashioned from the most fluid of velvets for evening wear. Velvet is normally associated with stiffness and structure but here we have employed the most mellifluous version and applied it to the Georgia blazer, the Sophia pant but also the brand new Sophia cropped jacket which is satin piped and decorated with a single hand enamelled, gold-plated feature button at the neck.
